Our lives are so much richer having found EDA! My effervescent daughter has found a sense of belonging in the EDA community. From small parts to bigger ones, every show with them has us leaving with a full heart begging for the next. I look forward to watching ALL of the actors improve with each show. Bubbling, fun, energetic and proud, it has been my experience that all of the kids leave feeling a little more confident than when they started.

I am forever grateful for the opportunities and experiences that EDA has given me. I never knew how much being on stage and singing and dancing would impact my life. When I’m on stage, I feel like I can fly. I instantly get so much energy, almost electricity, and flows of pure, absolute joy. In my head, during every performance, I think “This is what I want to do forever!” Once I get up on stage, I mentally and physically light up and can’t stop smiling. East Dallas Arts has taught me countless things such as breath support, vocal placement and more, but especially interdependence and community. Each of the directors makes a point to personally connect with each member of the cast so everyone always feels so included and connected. This bond creates a feeling of safety and trust. I don’t know that the future holds, but I do know that EDA has ignited a passion and provided life skills and experiences that I will carry with me always.
